3 Months

I can't tell you how much we love this baby! She is the sweetest baby ever! She is coming to terms with her big brother, who really does love her. It has been fun to watch her light up when he comes around and follow him around the room. When you let her sleep with you she will nudge her head in the direction that you are until she finds you. She has a soft and pathetic cry. It's hard to take her too seriously because her cry is too cute and tiny. She gets red splotches around her eyes just like her momma and brother. She lights up when you sing. She watches TV. She loves her swing. We love to have her here. Our family feels a little more complete with her around.
I just want to eat her up!
Gangsta! I have tried to fix the pic, but it won't stick, but here it is anyway! Did I mention she rolled over for the first time yesterday?! I hope it was just a trial, and that she won't do it again for a little while- it's too soon!

Ode to CL

Craigslist! Oh Craiglslist! You are a friend o' mine! Since we've been working out transitioning bedrooms, making better use of our space, giving our table to Paul's parents, and trying to do it all for the best deal possible. Let me tell you about the deals I have gotten this month by shopping my local Craigslist. As my Grandpa says "one man's junk is another man's treasure". Truer words were never spoken! These purchases don't include the beautiful black crib I found my sister for a steal!
Our new table and chairs. There is a leaf and a total of 6 chairs and this lady still had the pottery barn stickers on them. Hardly been used-got it for less than I could find one at Wal-mart!
Kate's new crib bedding - never been opened!
Evan's new big boy bed. Since space is limited we did a toddler bed, but since he'll grow out of that soon I didn't want to pay $150-200 for a bed and mattress. Found them both for 50. Not too shabby!

Dear Weight Watchers...

you are kicking my butt. So this morning when I ate Grape Nuts, I neglected to mention that I put sugar on them. Take that! Oh the dreaded last 10 pounds of baby weight. I've been to the gym twice this week and that's the easy part! It's the whole don't eat everything in sight just "because your nursing" syndrome. I'm starving! Somebody help me!

Happy New Year!

We played hard over Christmas and now we are all paying the price! Evan had an ear infection and pink eye. It was an awesome week! Little Kate had a trace of pink eye and a nasty little cough. A sick little baby with a raspy cry and a pathetic little look is so much nicer than pinning down an almost 3 year old and giving him meds. Oh the little things you appreciate! Anyway we rang in the new year with a bang- just the four of us. Kids went to bed and Paul and I rented 500 Days of Summer. Loved the movie! If your looking for something good to watch- that's my recommendation. Last year was crazy and filled with blessings- can't wait to see what next year brings!

Christmas Morning

This Christmas was a fun one! Evan was pretty excited to finally be able to open presents and knew who Santa Claus was. He didn't sleep so well on Christmas eve- he woke up at about 1:00 am and stayed awake until 4:00! Needless to say he had some very tired parents. I guess he just couldn't wait for all the excitement. He got a lot of Thomas things, but his favorite toy of the morning was Mac the truck. He spent hours pulling McQueen in and out of the back of the truck. He would share his trains with his cousins, but not Mac. Funny how one toy seems to stick isn't it? Kate just hung out being her usual sweet self. She is my favorite present this year!

Christmas Eve 2009

Favorite Evan story:
Me: The three wise men brought Baby Jesus presents.
Evan: Presents?
Me: Yep, they brought him gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Evan: No mom. Freight trains.
Guess what my boy wanted for Christmas?!
Sweet baby girl.

All of Paul's siblings were in and out of town for this Christmas. We have everyone here except for Jenny,
Most of the grandchildren.
We had a blast with all of Paul's family on Christmas eve! It was great to have everyone together to celebrate the season. Evan has never had so little sleep and so much fun! He loved playing with all of his cousins. It was great to see the family that we only get to see every so often. We ate great food (and lots of it), played games, sang songs, and told the Christmas story. It was a Merry Christmas indeed!

Happy Birthday Grandma Christensen!

Happy 67th birthday to Grandma Joyce!
