Its Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas...
It's the most wonderful time of the year! The kids have started off with a bang. Gingerbread houses, snow days, decorating, building forts around the tree, sleeping in said forts, and staying up too late EVERY night so far this month! We're off to a great start. The kids are anxiously awaiting the big day. Kate tells me every, and I do mean everyday that it's not Christmas yet. Evan just wants to be done with school so we can go to Utah for the festivities. It should be great heading home to see my whole family. We have big plans, lets just hope we can keep up with our kids.
Thanksgiving with Grandpa Ladd
This year we had a special treat! My Grandpa came out with my parents for Thanksgiving. Along with our usual family and friends, we had a great Thanksgiving and and even greater weekend. My Grandpa really wanted to go to Sea World to see "that whale". So off to Sea World we went! My kids are used to it, but it was fun to see my grandpa taking advantage of everything. At one point he said "I think I'm the oldest guy here" and he probably was! Not every 87 year old can handle walking Sea World all day. I don't know how much he was actually able to see, but I loved taking in the memories with the greatest man in the world!
Kate turns 3!!
This little nugget is officially 3! She had been waiting for that day for a few weeks. She kept telling everyone she was 3 way before she was. I have a love/hate relationship with 3. They can be hilarious, but they are so much harder than they were at 2. Kate seems to be no exception, but I guess we'll keep her anyway! When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday she said "I don't know." When I pushed it even further she said she wanted "candles" and finally she just told me she wanted "presents". Easy enough! She got an American Girl Bitty Baby complete with a crib courtesy of Grandma. She named her baby Seraphina (after the cat in the Barbie movie). She LOVES Barbie! It started by catching one of the movies on TV and it doesn't seem to be ending. I guess I loved Barbie at this age too. Kate is pretty opinionated, indecisive and stubborn, but she's also a little love bug. It's fun to see how she and Evan play and get along. They are starting to play and love each other more. One night when they were weren't going to bed, I put Evan in my bed and the tears started to flow. I went downstairs only to hear Kate yelling "Its ok Evan, it's ok." Melt. When she loves you she loves you hard (the reverse is also true). I can't believe she's 3, but I'm glad she's so excited be!
