Evan's Art

My little artist is getting better. His favorite medium seems to be sidewalk chalk. He draws the best when he's at one with the nature I suppose. The picture on the bottom is Thomas (of course), the picture on the top is Kate. I love this little drawing. Look at her hair- so appropriate!

Utah 2011

We made our summer pilgrimage home to Utah. It was a great trip, but most of all it was BEAUTIFUL! This picture doesn't even begin to do it justice. Utah's long winter made for a gorgeous spring/early summer! The mountains looked like the alps. The tops were covered in snow and the benches were GREEN! I always wonder if my eyes are just starved for green after living in SoCal, but it truly was green and spectacular. This was one of the trips that I made that I didn't really have any plans. No weddings, birthdays, get togethers, etc. just time to hang out and enjoy my family. I'm thinking we have to go in the fall, my kids have got to see a real fall. It really was a great trip!

Grandparents

My kids have it pretty good! They have awesome grandparents on both sides and a set of awesome great grandparent's to boot! Kate LOVES her papa. She likes her grandma too, but she's got it bad for the bald guy! We kept asking her "Where's Grandpa's hair?" She would stare and stare until finally she pointed at his goatee. My mom spoils her grandbabies whenever we are there. I don't know how many times I've mentioned this, but I really do have the BEST grandparents around. I'm so glad my kids get to know their great grandparents. I certainly have been all the better for it!

Uncle Luke

My brother is the best Uncle in the world. Evan LOVES it when Luke comes because Luke rides bikes, scoots, plays rough, and even takes him to the park the school). These are just a few of the fun times they had. Too bad Luke just moved to Washington! BOO! We will miss him when we don't get to see him on our visits to Utah. Oh well! Luke-save your energy for when you do see us- Evan is going to make use of it!

Grandma's Yard

Grandma's yard is a magical place! Especially to two kids who have to go to the park to run as wild as they do at grandma's. Evan basically wanted to be outside all day. Trains, bikes, scooters, swings, playhouses, all make for the perfect afternoon.

Lilly

My kids are ovsessed with Lilly the hamster. Lilly came to my parents house curtesy of Riley, but she makes for a great reason to be excited to go to grandma's house. Evan won't hold her, but he loves to pet her. Kate won't touch her, but she loves to look. A few days after we were home we went to the pet store. When we saw a section of rats Kate got really excited and started screaming "yiyee". Let's just say that little hamster made quite an impression.
