Memorial Day Roundup

My family came to town for Memorial Day. My parents, my sister Jenna, Riley and baby Mac came to hang with us! Evan had a blast with Riley- if I could have her for a week it would be awesome. He went to bed early every night he was so tired. It was great having a babysitter 24 hours a day! It was also great to get to know my newest nephew Mac. Kate loved Riley and checked out Mac- she went to grab him as soon as she saw him. I love having my family around. They just need to come out here more often!

We took our annual trip with the Blads, Ebmeyers, and Gardner's this year to the Lawrence Welk resort. Long trip! It actually turned out to be pretty great- the kids ran from sun up and sun down. We swam, played, ate, and ran for two days. We even got a babysitter one night and went to dinner sans kids- AWESOME! It was a great trip, and we look forward to yet another trip next year.

Saturdays in the park

Well our sports classes are picking up! Evan actually participated this week (albeit with the threat of going home or playing) and he had fun! We hung out at the park, rode bikes, hiked a little trail, and tuckered miss Kate out! It was a fun Saturday morning.

Look what I did!

Yes- I made that! I wanted some bedding for Evan's bed (that wasn't Thomas) but couldn't find any I liked, so I decided to put my limited sewing skills to use and try out a blanket. I think it turned out pretty well for a girl who can hardly sew! We'll just have to see if it holds up!

Currently Obsessed with

the Temper Trap. Can't get enough. To all my musically hip friends, don't mock because I'm so behind- none of the good stuff can be found on Little People or primary cd's. Kids sanity = mom's sanity. This stuff also = moms sanity. Beautiful.

7 Months

This little nugget is 7 months! 7 months!!!! She has become a very busy girl. She isn't happy to hang out without something near her mouth or in her mouth. She scoots and rolls all over the place and adores Evan. Evan has given her the nickname "sqeak". Its super cute to see them love each other- nothing melts this moms heart faster than when Evan asks to see 'sqeak' and she lights up when she sees him. We love our little Sqeak!

Rainy days...

don't go away! My boy loves them too much! We have had a couple of rainy weeks and no one has loved them more than Evan. When he sees the rain he begs to go outside and when he gets outside he makes the most of every puddle, stream and snail. He discovered how the storm drains work by putting leafs in the stream and watching them go down the drain. I love watching him learn and make the most of our "bad" weather.
