GNO (or Girls Weekend Out!)

A weekend with the girls!!!! Oh, what is a mom to do with no baby, husband and 4 of her best friends? I would answer that but what happens in Vegas...
I had a great weekend with my besties in Vegas. We did some lounging by the pool, shopping, eating, more shopping, a little more eating, saw a show, played on the strip, watched a chick flick, put a few bucks in the slot machines, and then ate a little more. We had a BLAST! It is so fun to see all the girls I have known for so long. I must say our conversations have changed. We used to talk about what boys we liked and gave each other advice on fashion, boyfriends, etc. Now we sit around trying to tell the worst mom moments, trying the scare the crap out of our Holly (have fun giving birth!), how crazy our families are, and funny husband stories. If you would have asked me 5 years ago about hanging out with a bunch of married girls with kids I would have died- BORING! But it was GREAT! Funny how the things you swore you never do end up coming true a lot sooner that you ever thought. I'm so far down the cool ladder it's almost pathetic, but happy nonetheless! Thanks ladies for the great weekend! Thank you Paul for being a good dad and a great husband and taking Evan for the weekend!

A little more Evan...

like no one has seen enough! Here are a few more pics of my little climber and explorer. He really is into everything! You can't open any appliance without a little "help" from Mr. Inquisative. It's pretty cute, but if you want to get any real work done you have to do it during naps. It is so fun watching him check stuff out. I admire how fearless he is. Just in case anyone was wondering, yes I have the cutest kid ever!

It's Catch Up Time!

We have had a crazy couple of months! Since my last post we celebrated Evan's first birthday, had a trip home to Utah, went to Arizona for Easter, celebrated Easter, watched Evan start walking, and hosted my family in San Diego! We show no signs of slowing down either. Here is a quick update on the state of our family!

I love this picture of Evan, cause it's one of his favorite activities! Nothing like popping open the can and dumping it out all over the floor- and nothing like cleaning it up over and over again!
Nothing quite like eating sand!
Beach babies!
Evan had more fun with the box and balloon than anything. How cute is this pic?
Here is the family on our visit to old town.
Here is a picture from his birthday party! Needless to say he loves cake. He downed 2 cupcakes and we basically had to hose the highchair down.
Evan was all over my Grandpa. He was sick and lathargic and just sat in the chair with papa. There is nothing like watching your family with your baby. Ah... the circle of life!
I love this picture of my niece, she looks like the sweetest 7 year old.
Evan in the hot tub with his cousins on our trip to Arizona over Easter weekend.
Don't come to the Larimore's house on a Tuesday night unless you are prepared to dress up like Hannah Montana, and play Rock Band into the wee hours of the morning.

Updates!

This is my CUTE Grandpa. Anyone who knows me knows that I (hands down) have the greatest grandparents in the world. My grandpa is the source of countless family jokes and memories. It was pretty fun to have him visit us for a change! Can you believe he is as old as he is and riding a bike around my complex? Superman!
While my Grandma went with her daughters to Disneyland, we took my Grandpa to the zoo. He loves animals and spent about 10 minutes watching the pandas. He is pretty cute!
Here are my cute grandparents at the San Diego temple.
Outside is Evan's favorite place to be. He likes to make himself useful by sweeping the patio!

Luke's party

We went to Luke’s 2nd birthday party and Evan and Luke had a ball playing with the wagon. Evan pushed Luke around and was soooo…. proud of himself!

It's about time!

I seriously need to update this blog more often. We have had yet another busy month, and next month is looking to be just about as busy! We just got back from a trip to Louisiana. Paul's parents are going to be moving to Arizona in the next few months and Paul and I went to help get a few things prepared. I forget how beautiful the south is. I forget how sticky you feel thanks to some crazy humidity. I forget the symphony of sound at night. I forgot the smell, caused by lots of vegetation mixed with wet humidity, but it is a good smell. I forgot the feeling of being enclosed by trees. You really are hard pressed to find a view to look over because you are surrounded by trees. I also have forgotten how nice people are in the south. It made me miss my mission days! I have been home for so long I forget a lot of precious memories until they are brought up. The cashiers talk to you, strangers on the street say hello. They offer advice, directions, and laughs. Maybe it's from living in California to long. I barely know my neighbors and if you get a nod or a smile from a passerby that is a good friend. People in the south really are interested. They love people, it really is a beautiful thing.

We took a trip to the Bass sporting goods store- and it was a trip! It looked like Disneyland inside. I guess they tailor their stores to the local and it looked like the bayou. There were great big trees covered in moss, gators, stuffed dead animals, ponds with catfish- it was crazy! I was expecting to go get an a ride at the back of the store, but instead there were just fishing poles! We also had to go to Wal-Mart to buy my son some LSU gear for next year. All I know is that I sure am an accommodating wife! After this trip, I actually am beginning to understand my husbands obsession for all things LSU. I would say that everywhere we went there was a ton of people wearing LSU gear. Grown man, women, kids, and babies- everyone is obsessed down there!

I will post some pics tonight when I have time to upload them!

I am finally posting a few of the pictures from the last almost two months. I have more, but I had to start somewhere. Christmas was fun and very busy. Between our trip to Utah, followed by a trip to Arizona, my neice staying with us for a week and a half, company for a few days and a few weeks of this awful cold that has been going around, we have been keeping a crazy pace. Things have finally slowed down, but they are always sure to pick up again! Enjoy these pics and I will try to post a few more in the next few days.

Evan at our family's Christmas Eve pageant.
His cousins were all too eager to help Evan enjoy the sweet things in life!
Evan making the most of different cabinets at Emily's house in Arizona.
Emily got a very nice new dog and Evan was all about him. Luckily the dog just hung out when Evan tried to climb all over him and pull his hair out.
Ahhh... don't ask me where Paul got those ugly sweats from, but magically he brought Evan downstairs in time to watch the National Championship. LSU won just in case you were wondering. It made for a happy evening at home.
We dressed Evan and his cousin up as lambs for our Christmas pageant. We figured they would be roaming anyway, we might as well give them a part!
This is Evan playing with his new activity table from Santa- he had a very exciting and overwhelming Christmas morning.
We aren't used to winter weather, but it was fun to dress Evan up in warm clothes. We just think he is sooo... cute!
