Evan's Birthday Party

Happy 3rd Birthday! All he wanted for his birthday was a "bouncehouse". Mission accomplished! We had a blast at the park with our friends and family, bouncing like mad men! He sobbed when we sang to him. I wasn't expecting that! I thought he would eat it up since he loves singing it at home. I have a lot more pictures of our fun event, but I can't post them all I will have to send pics to everyone. Thanks to all for making it such a fun day!

Lately...

This is our newest cousin baby Mac.
He was rocking his sunglasses in his sleep!

Bowling with Luke and Amy. He loved it but we went on league night, lets just say our fellow bowlers were not happy with him running through their lanes while celebrating!

Happy 80th Grandma!

Happy 80th to the best grandma in the world! It's a fact that I have the greatest grandparents EVER. I am beyond grateful that these two were given to me as grandparents. We had a great party at my aunt Crystals house with the whole family. My cousin Misty made a great slide show and by the end the whole family was crying, but there was nothing greater than looking over and watching my grandparents and seeing how much love they have for their crazy family. My grandpa always jokes "all these people are here because of me", but it all true for a number of reasons. Happy birthday grandma!

Compliments

Is anyone else like me about receiving compliments? I always have some way to deflect it or tear it down somehow. Not my little boy. Everytime you say "good job" or "what a great picture" he responds with a grateful "thank you". No arguement from him. As far as he knows it is a great job and the best picture ever. I love it. So I've decided to take note from my little man and work on being better at receiving compliments. If someone says you look great today I'm not going to say "Thanks, but I feel fat today". I'm just going to say a grateful thanks and leave it alone. I should just be glad someone thinks I look great!

My Boy

Evan has grown like a weed in the past few months. He talks and tells stories and sings like a champ. I love the stories best. He hands turn as he tries to tell it as if turning them makes it come faster. He fills in the words with "annnn.." and he gets so excited when he's done. He can take a melody and change the words on a dime. For instance this morning he sang singing "more yogurt" over and over to the tune of "twinkle twinkle little star". Yesterday as I was struggling to get him down for his nap he sat up in bed and said "mommy, I need to listen to you". Something he's heard his parents say numerous times, but doesn't quite grasp. His favorite show is Caillou and he wants to watch it all the time. He also does little naughty things which are funny. Sometimes it's hard to contain laughter when he does them. One of us will often have to leave the room while the other does the "we don't say those kinds of words" talk. He's also pretty challenging to reign in, but he is a boy and he's about to be 3. I no longer judge parents with crazy kids- I have one. I adore him nonetheless!
I love this pic! It couldn't be anymore Evan than this. Paul had knee surgery yesterday and Evan was all about his purple socks! He went to bed with them and they have been on ever since. He is about as white as the cabinets!
A couple of rainy days will do this to you. Kudo's to all my friends raising kids in the snow. I always complain about not having seasons but after we had rain for a straight week it made me appreciate just being able to go outside and find things to do. I won't complain again!
Here is the blanket or de-de as it is affectionately known at our house. I really have tried to fix and repair it, but it's so threadbare it's beyond repair.
There is a party in my dishwasher! Who knew opening your dishwasher could be so fun?

Kate is starting to reach and grab. It's so fun to watch her attack these hanging toys. She's pretty determined and is pretty good at making the catch. Evan loves to watch her, he thinks she's hilarious, which makes it hilarious!
Some of our besties up in the OC. We love the Wheelers and the Gardners, now if only we could talk you into moving down here!

Family Pic

Since Paul's whole family was together for Christmas we had family pictures! Here we are. Evan was burning up with a fever and it was freezing in AZ! Combine those two factors and you have an awesome picture day. On the whole though the pics could have turned out much worse. The photographer was able to capture a few cute shots of Kate, but my poor boy has pink racoon eyes in all of his! I will post some of those later.
