Good times with Dad

A few more updates

Here is some of the damage from the wreck we got into. Did I mention that it was brutally cold when we were there? We were driving home from Paul's sisters house and a 17 year old girl tried doing a u-turn on unplowed streets and hit us. The wreck wasn't so bad, but waiting 45 minutes for the cops to come was. Needless to say, it was a long night.
We went to the petting zoo in San Juan Capistrano with my cousin Chris, his wife Anna and Evan's favorite friend Scout. They had a great day chasing goats and petting bunnies, but most of Evans attention was focused on the train. He cried when we got off and ran over to the it multiple times. We ended up riding a few times and saw a real amtrak train close by. He was in choo choo heaven!

Adventures in Dogsitting

Well our week with Sammy the dog is over. Evan LOVED him. The first thing he said this morning when he woke up was "ruff, ruff". He called him "mammy". He was great with Evan- I didn't have to chase him because the dog did. When Evan wanted to play toys with someone, he went to the dog. Who needs a sibling when you can have a dog? He is a super nice dog but having a dog for a week only made me realize how not ready for a dog we are! Those little puppies need lots of attention, and bathroom breaks. The good news is the carpet cleaning I've been procrastinating can wait no longer!

My boy loves to...

Sing! We learned a few songs for Christmas- this is just the only one he would sing along with. His favorite song was "O Christmas Tree", but he would sing the "ho,ho,ho" on "Up On the Housetop" but he was known to belt out "fa,la,la,la,la" from the backseat!

Christmas 2008

Ya, it's the end of January and I'm finally posting Christmas! We went to Utah for our Christmas festivities this year. It was cold, we got in a wreck, and it took us 18 hours to get home, but other than that we had a blast! Evan got to see his cousins, Pauls family came into town on Christmas day so we were able to see both sides of the family. Paul did some skiing, I played with my sister, had dinner with my roommates from my freshman year at Utah State, had dinner with some of my besties and their hubbies. We were able to do a little shopping, a little celebrating and a lot of playing. In fact we both wanted to stay a little longer, but work needed to be done. Needless to say it was a great trip!
Uncle Luke watching the madness of Christmas morning.
Evan spent more time pushing trains on the table than almost anything else. He REALLY REALLY REALLY loves Thomas!
The first words out of his mouth on Christmas morning were "Choo, choo!". He got a few new trains and LOTS of other fun gifts - thanks Grandma!
This is Evan's new toy- a vacuum! He loves the big vacuum, and loves to "help" me when I vacuum, so I thought that he could just work alongside me instead of sitting in front of me when I'm trying to clean.
Look at this gift- it was probably his way of letting me know there was a gift for me in his diaper!

Sometimes...

you just get out of the blogging mood. I have been BEYOND lazy these past few weeks. I don't know if it's post holiday burnout, or just sheer laziness but I haven't been able to make myself do much of anything these days. I finally mustered up the willpower to get a few things done, but just when I was uploading pics, my camera's battery died and that was the end of that! Quick update, Christmas was a blast, my baby is supercute, I'm dog sitting this week (more on that to come), and I'm looking forward til the end of January. I will post tonight after everything is ready to go.

Paul took Evan to the Wild Animal Park last week and he LOVED it! Guess its time to get a pass!
