Nieces Rule!

Thank you to my nieces Haley and Hannah for their willing participation in my photo homework. The worked it! It was sooooo.... nice to not have moving targets! They took me learning to use the reflectors and figuring out the right composition very well. If anyone needs any models- I've got they come highly recommended. I'm taking a photo course and lets just say I am WAY behind my fellow participants. I'm so embarrassed to post every week- everyone's else's work is AMAZING! Oh well- I guess I just have to catch up!

Birthday Pics

Evan had a great birthday! We had a great family birthday party. I think he was hoping it would be a big birthday party like last year, but alas- it was just his nearest and dearest. Dad got up and made him his favorite breakfast- french toast. Then he got to open his presents- we didn't bother waiting for cake. He got a new bike, a battery operated Thomas and some new Thomas lego sets. Just what he wanted and more! He kept asking "is this my birthday party?". Who needs a big party when you can party all day with your fam? Then we went to Boomers and let him go wild. He LOVED the go karts. We played games and took advantage of all the rides he could ride on. It was a super fun day. When it was all over- we all crashed. Thanks Evan for the great day!

Four

Guess who's four? I love these pics because they are SOOOO him right now. He is all boy. He still loves his trains, riding bikes, scooters, plasma cars and running with wild abandon. He has turned the corner on 3 (thank goodness) and is now a total 4 year old. He loves talking about poop, singing about poop, telling stories about poop and sometimes he changes it up to talk about pee. Sounds a little something like this "Old McDonald had a poop." Disgusting. I love that he gets jokes now. I love that he tries to tell them. He's totally figured out teasing and is trying to perfect his own version of it. His relationship with his sister has been changing too. Now that she's a little more fun he really likes her. He's still won't share trains with her, but he's willing to compromise on a few other things. He still sings songs about me. My favorite one goes like this "my mom, my mom, my mom is really cool". He gets away with a lot following that song. He loves Paul. As he gets older and wants to do bigger boy stuff I see their bond growing. Something I love and something I hate. I like being number one! He the best at snuggles, and gives a pretty mean hug. I love this sweet boy. Happy birthday Evan!

Evan the Dino

Sometimes they get some serious rock star treatment at pre-school. You know the kids are loving the face paint. Evan had this cute little dinosaur painted on his face when I picked him up and he promptly told me he was going to keep it on a "wong, wong, wong, wong time". I wasn't going to make him wash it off- it was pretty awesome. He rocked that bad boy until the middle of the night when he woke me up and told me he was ready to wash it off now. Lucky for him their wasn't really any left anyways so it turned out to me a great excuse to sleep with us. I love, love, love having a boy!

Arizona Trip

Mia and Jenna had their 7th birthday party at the Roller Rink. Notice I don't any pictures of us roller skating-let's just say that we won't be going again for quite some time. Even with the "skate mate" it was a long 5 minutes on the roller rink. Kate was dying to get on the floor and take a spin. Evan just wanted his shoes back on. Aside from the skating their was all sorts of fun things to do. We played a little ski ball, air hockey, and did a whole lot of running around. All in all it was a fun party. Kate is in love with her grandpa's. She kind of just likes old men in general. I would be concerned, but she might be on to something! I've heard it said that smart girls loves their dads (and their grandpa's)- she is one smart girl indeed!

The stairs

This is Kate's new way of going down the stairs. She used to be a pro going backwards. I think since she starting walking she's figured she should be going down facing front. This is the result. It's not pretty, it takes longer and leaves rug burns on her back, but she's not gonna go backwards again!

Playin' with the cousins

Evan has three of the greatest cousins EVER! Adam, Mia and Jenna made his trip "super awesome". Adam is almost 10 and the twins are 7 and they couldn't love him more. Thanks for making it so fun guys!
