Memorial Day 2009

We had such a fun day with family. My cousin Chris and his cute family came down on Sunday night and played the day away with us on Monday. We started with Sea World, grilled some yummy burgers and splashed in the pool before putting some super tired kids to bed. I love having just one of my family members here- thanks guys for coming all the way down and playing!
He looks like he's crying, but I promise he was laughing! He is one adventurous water baby. Paul takes him swimming a couple of times a week, and the result is one crazy pool boy. He goes underwater with his dad and will even dive in on Paul's shoulders. I get so paranoid about all the crazy things they do it's probably a good thing that I'm not at every swimming session with these two crazy boys.
Anna, Scout and Evan
Scout warming herself on the cement. Remember doing that?
Chris and baby Charlie making the most of the heated pool.

Sea World

How handsome is my boy?
We had a great time watching this polar bear- that is a starfish in his mouth. Evan and Scout were mesmerized.
Paul "the polar bear" hiding in the caves for Evan to come and find him.

Going on the rides in the bay of play. I have been past it, but every time we go to Sea World we are usually with guests and we are on our way from one attraction to another. This place is awesome for pre-school kids. Evan didn't want to leave. We will definately be going back just to go to the bay of play throughout the summer.

Lazy Sundays

Evan has a Thomas "activity" book. For a long time we were just reading it like a normal book and he would just study all the different trains. He can pretty much name you all the trains and he just totally geeks out for Thomas. Then he discovered they were stickers. Now they are in random places all over the house. If he sees a ripped or torn sticker he can still tell you what the train is. This was a lazy Sunday afternoon after naps for all! Mom was the recipient of a lot of love that day.

In no particular order..

We went to Paul's cousins wedding and he crashed! Mind you their was a full blown dance party going on outside, and he didn't notice. You know he's done for when the party's going, the dance floor is hoppin' and we are taking pictures of him without him even stirring!
I love a tired boy! I know he's mine, but I just think he is the cutest boy ever. Kudos to dad for the perfect transfer.
We went to an Easter egg hunt in the park, but Evan wasn't so interested in hunting eggs, so we took advantage of the empty jumpie. He loved it.
We spent the weekend with our friends Mandy and Jason up in the O.C. Mandy's parents are always kind enough to have us over for the best Sunday dinners! Evan loved their toys, the turtles and the yard. He will find any Thomas and make it his.

I never blog about music mostly because "Pop goes the weasel" isn't exactly cool, and I'm totally out of the loop, but I was listening to the radio today (I HEART satellite radio) and heard a fantastic song. If you know me, you know I prefer all Brit pop to most of the decent stuff we Americans put out. You won't hear Nickelback on most BBC stations (I know their Canadian, but we American's support that crap!). Gosh I sound like such a snob- and truthfully I can't even carry that title anymore! Anyway the artist is Jack Penate- he's been around for a little while but his latest two singles are killer. First single- Today's Tonight. Love it! Next single is Be the One- awesome! I love songs that have great lyrics, good melody's and make you want to dance. I guess that the album doesn't come out until June, but I will be waiting patiently until then. It sounds awesome!

IT"S A.......

GIRL!!!!!!!!!
I would post the ultrasound pic, but there is a disconnect between me and the scanner! We are so excited to have a girl!
I've been asking Evan for a few weeks if we were having a brother of a sister, but he never gave me an answer. Last week he was giving my belly a kiss then he looked at me and said "siser". It was super cute, I got teary eyed, and he turned out to be right! He will be getting a sister somewhere around October 12.

Alone time...

Something I haven't had enough of lately. After saying goodbye to out latest batch of visitors, sending Paul off to a wedding and putting Evan to bed, I can't believe how quite it is. This is what heaven must be like. No TV, basketball playoffs, no washing machine or dishwasher running, no need to converse with anyone, just me blog stalking with no interruptions. Heaven.
Pregnancy is not a girls best friend (at least not this girls!) and after a mental breakdown yesterday, a feeling ugly, fat and totally unstylish day today, a few more nights of this quiet might just be the cure!
